I'm in serious disbelief that the first day of September is this week! Summer always seems to slip away, and every year I'm in shock at how quickly time flies.
However, now that there are only a handful of weeks left for summer-like weather, it means fall (and fall dressing) are on the horizon. I really enjoyed pulling out a few of my favorite fall pieces for this post. It was almost like revisiting some old friends... but they're friends that I hope I don't need to see until early October (if I'm being honest!).
Let's start with my first fall essential: cotton knit sweaters. The. Best. My favorite kind of fall days are when you can get away with just wearing a nice, cozy sweater sans jacket. I wouldn't say that I'm loyal to a particular brand when it comes to sweaters. A few of my favorites are from the Gap, Madewell, and the men's section at J.Crew.
I'm definitely a denim girl. I live in jeans year-round. It was actually a bit tough to narrow down what my go-to styles would be for fall. First, there are the Levi's Wedgie Icon Jeans. They're high-rise with a tapered straight leg cut. With the exception of over-the-knee or equestrian style boots, these jeans look amazing with a variety of shoe styles. I'm sure I'll be pairing them with plenty of ankle boots and slip-on sneakers this fall!
Got to love a good pair of black skinny jeans for fall. I like mine with a bit of distressing and this Madewell pair has been my go-to for years.
Now, on to the good stuff: shoes! I have worn out so many pairs of black ballet flats that I've stopped keeping track. They go with so many outfits, and have the ability to sharpen a look. This black suede pair is by Loeffler Randall.
Ankle boots are a fall staple for me. I have a few favorites (Loeffler Randall Felix boot, Rag + Bone Harrow boot), but the Madewell Billie boots are my perfect everyday boot. The heel is low and comfortable, and the suede adds a bit of texture to my outfits.
As much as I love slip-on sneakers, I've been really into Converse lately. I kinda feel like I've been cheating on my perforated leather Vans slip-ons! Sneakers are one of my fall staples because they add a sporty (and comfortable) twist to any outfit.
