I always dive head-first into any project that involves cleaning and organizing. I aim to clean out my closet, makeup, and accessories twice every year. It feels so good to let go of things and create space!
Once I start cleaning, I hop around from one project to the next. I'm currently in full-blown spring cleaning mode and this box of products from Open Nature™ couldn't have arrived at a better time. The line is dye free, contains biodegradable ingredients, and includes fragrance free options. I was ready to put them to the test.
First up was the Open Nature Dish Washing Liquid. If you have open shelving in your home, you know that dust (and dog hair–just being real here) can often cover the dishes sitting pretty on those shelves. This product made those dishes shiny and new in no time.
However, I decided the real test was going to be the bowl I had used for my oatmeal breakfast that morning. If you eat oatmeal, you know that any residue basically sticks to the bowl like glue. It's disgusting but true. I added a dash of the dish liquid to the bowl and some water to let it soak for a few minutes. When I started scrubbing away at the bowl, the remnants of my breakfast lifted away easily.
The product that impressed me the most was the Open Nature Paper Towels. These paper towels use 100% recycled paper and are certified Safer Choice by the U.S. EPA.
I have tried paper towels composed of recycled materials in the past; however, they were often stiff, not very absorbent, and would crumble and fall apart in my hands.
The Open Nature Paper Towels have some serious life in them. From drying off berries, to wiping windows, these paper towels are ready for the task at hand.
Lastly, the Open Nature Glass and Window Cleaner and the All Purpose Cleaner have a light lemon scent. I'm all about citrus-scented products. Words that I automatically associate with citrus are "fresh" and "clean." And who doesn't want to live in a space that's both fresh and clean? The fragrance of both of these cleaners is extremely light and refreshing.
The Glass and Window Cleaner is biodegradable and dye free. I tested it out on a few windows and was delighted to find that it didn't create any streaks as I wiped it away. It also didn't make the windows cloudy or leave behind any residue. I know I describe a lot of things on this blog as being "the worst" but cloudy and grimy windows are truly the worst when all you're trying to do is clean them. Right? Right.
If you want to try any of these Open Nature™ products for yourself, they're available in the Boston area exclusively at Shaw's and Star Market stores! You can also find them at all of the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, and Carrs/Safeway.
